Henry is a leader that grows throughout the play to become an excellent inspirational leader. His leadership is shown by the calmness, clarity and most of all the confidence he shows in leading his men. He focuses on his strength as an orator inspire his men to greatness. His influentence as a storyteller allows his men to envision the future. He uses motivation versus measurable goals. In today’s society many leaders should look to motivating versus measurable goals. If the goal is hard to measure it is probably needed. Parents want for their children to have happy fulfilled lives. Leaders want to grow their employees. Henry V was able to motivate his men to overcome seemly unsurmountable odds.

His ability to manipulate the people around him to gain his desires is amazing. He also knows that he does not want his new subjects to hate him. Understanding that an army of thieves will be cruel to the subjects he was trying to rule. Having a thieving army will not endear him to the people. His past friendship with Bardolph did cause some issues with his leadership. Hanging the thief Bardolph on the battlefield could not have been easy. He was friends with him in his youth. Part of his growth was able to put aside the friendship he felt with Bardolph for the good of the group of men he is leading to battle. Having thieves on the battlefield would have been a detriment for his troop’s morale. The ability to lead an organization and have the employees “see” your vision is an important trait for a CEO. Having the ability to verbalize your vision and have others believe in and share your vision is paramount for a CEO.

The current economy calls for all employees to produce more with less resources. Henry is allows his men to envision the future and thus winning. In today’s fast paced environment early adopters of technology and other tools of the trade often reap the benefits. Henry V had his men use the long bow while the French used the cross bow.
Henry V proves a leader is able to have compassion and empathy without losing the “thrill of the hunt”. He is able to embody these skills with calmness, clarity and confidence. All of these traits make him an inspirational and lonely
