Here Come The Robots Chapter Summary
After reading Chapter 1 "Here Come the Robots", I was mostly unsurprised about the rise of robotics in the developed world. Japan's situation, as mentioned in pages 15-16, is an example of a society in which robots are a (in the minds of some) rational way to make life more comfortable for a country whose population is currently declining. Admittedly, I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the African Robotics Network (AFRON) and the emergence of projects based on robotics-related education, research, and industry. Another interesting piece of information to me was how Russia was a nonplayer in robotics despite their industrial base (mentioned on page 20). This chapter has cemented my view that as time passes in our world we find ourselves

    The tone of the article is instructive, because the author is showing the reader the benefits and downfalls of using robots in everyday life.
