Hero Essay
A hero to most people is someone that wears a cape and a costume, but truly a hero is someone that inspires you and never gives up on whatever obstacle their facing. Just like an everyday hero Ana knows she might not survive the cancer she has, but still has a smile on her face every day. Ana inspires her children and husband to never give up and always be positive. People always look up to heroes because they inspire them to do things that most people can’t accomplish. All people see heroes in a different way, for example a hero could be brave, inspiring, and determined, but a hero can be much more than that. A hero is defined to me as a person who protects people, who is always inspiring to others, and someone who is never selfish and always puts everybody else first.
Furthermore a hero is defined to me as a person who protects others. In Love triumphs a six year old boy named Deamonte Love protects a band of toddlers from getting hurt after hurricane Katrina. He was a hero to those toddlers by protecting them and bringing back to safety. Most people would not think a six year old child could be a hero, but to these toddlers he was. A hero always should protect people whatever the situation because they could save a plethora of lives. People that don’t protect other people should never be considered a hero. Protecting should be the number one thing that a hero should do because you save people and all heroes protect. Lots of villains or bad guys can be considered heroes if they protect people because a hero can even be a villain.
In addition to a hero is defined to me as a person who is always inspiring to others. In an everyday hero Ana inspires her children and husband to never give up whatever the situation. They also were inspired to always have a smile on their face no matter how much pain there is. Her children and husband said that she told them to never give up and always try. People

“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It’s all part of the fairytale.” -Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn. Heroes can be found in normal, everyday people; however, they go unnoticed because they did not have to overcome a great calamity to perform an action. More well known heroes have all overcome the worst of situations imaginable. For example, Ms. Riley from October Sky had fought Hodgkin’s Disease while helping Homer and the Rocket Boys achieve their dream. Rainsford from The Most Dangerous Game fought to the death in a game he did not believe in or wanted to participate in. Josh Sundquist became an award winning author and a Paralympian after defeating cancer and having his leg amputated at age nine. A hero is one who is selfless, overcomes adversity, and inspires others.…

The definition of hero varies among people but, in my definition of a Hero is a person who is able to achieve the difficult task regardless of the resistance of society or sacrificing themselves in risky situations. A hero is not a person who is easily scared, gives up easily and selfish. In my opinion, when people are described as “hero” we neglect their bad behaviors, but this doesn’t imply to every hero we should be aware of such things because we all have our own flaws.…

It comes as no surprise to anyone that teenagers are sometimes naturally moody, angst-ridden, and emotional as they transition from childhood to adulthood. No one, that is, but teenagers. For adolescents such as myself, the shifting position that teenagers come to in these years is awkward at best, and painful at worst. The sudden responsibility and pressure thrust upon a teenager in the latter years of high school (and often before) is near impossible to easily adjust to, especially when there is no real preparation offered. When left at the confusing crossroads of a seemingly transitory crisis, teenagers are faced with serious internal and external conflicts, often manifest in manic-depressive and abusive tendencies, as displayed in Salinger’s…

In “Resistance to Civil Government” Thoreau embodies the idea individual responsibility by refusing to pay taxes. Therefore, he is breaking the law but, he took this course of action due to the law violating his personal beliefs. This sets up the basis for his piece: people are morally obligated to break laws that violate their personal beliefs. He believes individuals should always rely on their own reasoning, due to the lack of morality in the highly corrupt government. The government is bound to make unjust laws because it is ruled by majority vote, not by reasoned or moral decisions. Thoreau's hope is that free-thinking individuals will take responsibility and defy government when it is making incorrect legislation.…

Have you ever met an unjust hero? Our heroes are not selfish nor do they put themselves first. We as a society are their priority. Heroes are not cowards, they do not shy away from a challenge or someone in need. Never do the heroes push you to the sidelines. Unlike braggarts heroes are humble. “I’m not interested in the Heroes or the Villains. I’m interested in playing the people” (Anson Mount). The most crucial roles in society are played by ordinary people.…

A hero is someone who is admired or idealized for their courage, achievements and noble qualities, however, the definition of a hero can vary depending on the situation or person. A hero in the real world functions by persevering and sacrificing for the better. For instance, a real-life hero is a firefighter. They go out into dangerous fires to save the lives of thousands of people and animals. Joseph Campbell illustrates this when he says, ¨A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something better than oneself.¨(Joseph Campbell)…

A hero to many is someone who goes around running impossible speeds like flash doing good or a person with supernatural powers. Or like Judah thinks a hero is the good guy that fights the bad guy and always wins. However, to me a hero is a person who doesn’t care about money, fame and glory but they care about the happiness they can bring and the care they can bring for their family. A person who consoles me when I am upset, a person who always tries to find the good in everything. A person who fights for her beliefs(even if sometimes they are stubborn about it). A person who always gets me on my good side when I have a bad day. Someone who smiles and laughs at her own mistakes. Ciocia Tereska this why you are my hero!!! Against all odds…
