Her and pearl are very close. They are inseparable. Ever since pearl was a baby Hester has taken good care of her. She has done everything for her. As said in the book, “she clutched the child so fiercely to her breast, that it sent fourth a cry.” This is saying that Hester wants nothing to happen to Pearl so she holds her tight. Hester and pearl are very alike but at the same time are very different and diverse to each other.
Even though Hester has done a lot for the community and for her family she is not a perfect angel. She has been fooling around with the devil and mistress hibbins, otherwise known as the devils worker. She said that if Hester would have been taken from her should would have done witchcraft. Even though Hester was tempted to attempt witchcraft she did not. This was for the reason that she had pearl and didn’t want her to have a bad reputation or have anything happen to her.
These are the reasons I chose to use, she has donated, and she takes good care of pearl. But at the same time fools around with the devil and committed a serious crime. In conclusion the decision I have made on the subject of whether or not Hester is a good citizen in that she is a good citizen. I chose this option because I think that even though she has done bad things, she still has overcome those bad things with good. This is why she is a god citizen and not a bad
