I would like to express my thanks to Dr. John Foubert for helping me to take a far-fetched idea that I had before admission to the College Student Development Program and turn it into a workable thesis. Without the refinement that it received throughout various courses in his program as well as the various discussions with him, this project would not have come to fruition, much less in the two years that it did. I also want to express my thanks to the rest of the faculty of the CSD Program and related courses that contribute to one of the best Student Affairs
Master’s Programs in the country.
I also want to thank Susan Morgan from the Testing Center at Appalachian State University for assisting with the idiosyncrasies of the Student Development Task and Lifestyle Assessment, Dr.
Jesse Mendez and Dr. Mwarumba Mwavita for serving on my committee, and Mike Heppler for helping to navigate this baffling thesis template.
Another thanks goes out to several of my good friends and classmates who provided the critical feedback that I needed from time to time, the support I needed in crisis (you know, the few I had), and the continued efforts to bring out the best in not only me, but each other.
I want to thank my family and friends back in Ohio specifically, as well as those across the country, for enduring my decision to move to Oklahoma State University
