The song I will be analyzing and performing is Halo. This song is written and performed by Beyonce. This song is mainly about someone she loves. I chose this song because I think it has a very great meaning. I believe this song is a metaphor signifying a woman who got her heart broken and she built walls to protect herself.…
The assignment was not to construct a summary of the story you choose, but to personally relate to the subject in great detail. I would have liked to hear a personal relation to paragraph 3, maybe something along the lines of experiencing America’s arrogates. More so she only gave a glimpse of a personal example in paragraph 2 where she could have written in more detail about the “type of song played at my house hold that are less known.”. She needed more description for the paragraph to have a completed illustration. Over all this essay does not fulfil the criteria for the assignment.…
The meaning of a word or a phrase can be funnel in many ways throughout the author’s text. However, it can also be funnel through the same way, even though the authors may be completely different. In Letters to a Young Poet “Letter One” Franz Kappus a nineteen-year-old student, wrote a letter to Rainer Maria Rilke, in the pursuance of criticism, he strive for critique of his poem. However, Rilke refuses to criticize the young military born poet, but rather denounce Kappus inquiry for criticism in his poem. Likewise, in David Mitchell fictional excerpt solarium from “Black Swan Green”, Jason Taylor a thirteen-year-old boy from England, who’s profound affection toward the artistry of writing so much to the point where he himself publish his poem under a pseudonym name, Eliot Bolivar.…
The details of this story are absolutely stunning, I love the details of the whole piece, it kept me going. This story truly felt like an old storyteller was telling me this over a fire. The beginning truly drew me in with it’s beautiful language and descriptions, which was very lovely. The setting that was set in almost had a dreamlike quality, which was very cool especially when he first met the woman on page five, but it didn’t feel strange that he wasn’t concerned with her injuries, how you wrote it fit very well. The short conversations that occurred in reality felt truly natural, even in the dream and reality the dialogue was spot on and well done. I also enjoyed how you describe sound in this piece, the tinkling of bells to describe Hal’s mother’s voice and the crunching of snow to describe children ghosts’ voice. Such a difference compared to the usual easy way of using the senses.…

I think it’s very important to let ourself to relax and make people comfortable, so music is one of the way to do this. During poetry cafe, our group sang a song called “Life is Worth Living”, it’s originally song by Justin Bieber. This song can inspire me, because I can sing the song to let others remember me and have a good impression. I will discuss three figurative languages in this essay, which is Smile, Hyperbole and Rhyme, and they all can show the essence of this song. When the song sings that "It's like you're stuck on a treadmill.”, the author uses a simile.…
In conclusion, without the use of figurative language, tone, and mood, the purpose of a song can be misunderstood. Figurative language is used to understand the origin of central ideas. While tone is necessary to make sense of, why all these words are used. Mood is significant to know how we feel about this topic and the background information.. A song’s components play a major part in the meaning behind it.…

Figurative language, which some may refer to as “figure of speech”, is a type of language that utilizes description to produce a particular illustration and reveal a person’s emotion. It is, also, said that figurative language is associated with the human senses. Figurative language contains words that produce an intuition or thought of what the author wants his or her audience to know. At the end of the day figurative language plays an important role in our everyday speech and writing. Literal language, on the other hand, is words that articulate precisely what the author wants his or her audience to know. Using and misusing figurative language may make it more difficult for others to engage in productive thinking. The next few paragraphs will outline phrases that are used in figurative and literal languages.…
Christina Rossetti is considered a major Victorian poet, as her poetry is marked by symbolism and intense feeling. Her poem “Remember” is a great mixture of unlike feelings, such as despair and comfort put in one poem to make the reader sense the feeling of loss. This is a poem spoken by a woman who is thinking about her death and needs to ensure that her beloved always remembers her. Or at least, that’s what the message is, until the last lines, when she realizes that remembering will cause too much pain for her loved one, and changes her mind by saying “Better by far you should forget and smile/Than that you should remember and be sad.” Because the poem doesn’t have a lot of figurative language, and it’s not a extended metaphor, the figurative…
