Hideki Tojo Biography
Hideki Tojo and Hirohito were famous rulers during World War II. Hideki Tojo was the military dictator of Japan and is known for bringing Japan into a militarism government/state. Hirohito was Japan’s emperor and acted as if he was a figurehead but still had control in the areas that were out of the military dictator’s control. They are both well known today as the rulers of Japan during WWII, and they will be forgotten because of both the terrible and good things they have done. Hideki Tojo was born on December 30, 1884, in Tokyo Japan with a long career coming in WWII as a military leader(Tojo). Hideki Tojo graduated from the Military Staff College(Tojo). Tojo earned many titles during his military career(Tojo). After World War 1 he served as a technical expert on a diplomatic staff also known as Military Attache(Tojo). Some of his other titles include Vice Minister of War and Chief of Staff of the Kwantung Army in Manchuria(Tojo). In February 1944 he took direct …show more content…
In December 1941 he gave final confirmation to attack the Dutch East Indies and Great Britain(History,2). By about the time Tojo became Prime Minister he realized it wasn’t possible to avoid war with America, and they needed a big surprise attack to remove them from the Pacific Theatre(Hideki,7). He authorized the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941(Hideki,7). After the attack on Pearl Harbor Tojo led Japan’s war efforts(Tojo,1). Their was lots of success, for Japan, following the attack on Pearl Harbor especially when the British surrendered at Singapore(Hideki,7). From the recent success in battle for Japan, Tojo’s standing in Japan was strengthened(Hideki,7). The Allies invasion of the Marina Island was successful and it weakened Tojo’s government, he was sought to be soon removed from chief of staff(Tojo,1). Four days after the successful attack from the allies he was succeeded as Prime Minister by Koiso
