High Eighth Grade Graduation Speech
Family, Friends, Fellow peers. I would like to welcome you all to the 2017 Holmes Jr High eighth grade graduation. One of our wonderful staff members once explained to me “I think you’re going to have to suck it up and deal with it. There's really nothing you can do” This has really stuck with me through the last year. I may not have control over everything, but I might as well make the nest of what I do have control over.
Sixth grade, the beginning. The time where you have the most fear. Walking into school wearing your new back-to-school outfit just to be hit with a shock wave of reality when no one actually cares what you’re wearing. Everyone is just trying to make it to class without getting a minor for being late. For the first time, everyone is the new kid. Everyone is confused on where to go, how to get their locker open, who their teachers are. Excited for the future but also scared for what’s to come.
Seventh grade was the start to getting comfortable. We became more mature, more confident. We were no longer immature eleven and twelve year old. We were now strong …show more content…
Making the best of every situation even if you have no say in what is going on. Having to deal with things you may not agree with. Most people remember their eighth grade due to something traumatic happening, my goal was to remember for making greatness. Making a mark, being remembered. At the beginning, it was hard to imagine eighth graduation. Standing here presenting a speech to recognize the achievements and struggles. We have overcome through the past three years.
“The man who graduates today and stops learning tomorrow is uneducated the day after” - Newton D Balee Today may be the end of our Middle School journey, but it is the beginning of another one, I would like to congratulate the Holmes Jr. High class of 2017 for making it this far with such success and wish the best to everyone in the years to come, Thank you all and
