National Honor Society members will be selected based on four qualities:
SCHOLARSHIP: student has achieved a 3.000 or above out of a possible 4.000 for classes of 2013 and 2014.
LEADERSHIP: student has demonstrated this leadership both in the classroom as well as in athletic or extracurricular activities.
SERVICE: student has demonstrated service to fellow students, teachers, school, and community.
CHARACTER: student has exhibited a positive attitude toward teachers and peers, exemplifies good conduct in school and at school sponsored activities; shows honesty, has no serious disciplinary situations.

If you wish to submit your name, grade point average, and list of activities for membership consideration by the FCHS faculty to the National Honor Society, e-mail this completed form to nhs@franklinschools.org by Tuesday, February 5th no later than 3:00 PM. HARD COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE FORM BELOW:
You can save this file to your flash drive or Google Docs if you want to be able to work on it from home. ALL RESPONSES MUST BE TYPED DIRECTLY ONTO THIS DOCUMENT. You will need to do a SAVE AS to secure your responses before you can attach it to your email message. I would suggest saving your file as NHSyourname.doc. After you have saved the document, attach your saved WORD form to your email message and send it to nhs@franklinschools.org. Type Completed NHS Application in the subject line of the email.
Please include your GPA and type the activities and school offices you are currently participating in or have participated in during your high school career including the grade level of participation: (Church and 4-H activities may extend to years prior to high school.) Also include any honors earned (i.e. SAGE winner, Harvard Model Congress, Girl’s State). Do not be modest; a lack of school and/or community involvement could prevent you from being selected for NHS membership. The NHS Faculty Council’s decision is based only on what you submit in your application; therefore, the information needs to present an accurate and detailed picture of you!
An example: SCHOOL ACTIVITIES: Key Club 10, 11, 12 (President); STUCO 11(Class Rep), 12(Secretary); Football 11, 12; COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: 4-H 6-12; Church Youth Group 11, 12; Operation Bundle Up Volunteer 12.
Your application will be submitted exactly as you type it, so please take time to proofread. Refer any questions to Mrs. Kirby (E218). Any applications not submitted, submitted after the above due date and time or that are incorrectly completed will NOT be considered.

There are many ways one may contribute to their society.
