The various shots give the audience an insight to the characters’ surroundings which makes the film seem more personal. The establishing shot of a snowy log house denotes that high school students are on their holidays. This then cuts to a pan of the party. This once again gives the audience knowledge of the location. The Band Perry Essay

The Band Perry, a sibling musical trio composed of Kimberly Perry and her brothers Reid and Neil, is an interesting study in contrast. Just with the first two singles, the newcomers offered a lightweight, ebullient number in "Hip to My Heart" and a sad, weighty ballad, "If I Die Young." And most impressively, both songs manage to fit in well on their surprisingly diverse debut album.…

There's a scene in the new musical "RENT" that may be the quintessential romantic moment of the '90s. Roger, a struggling rock musician, and Mimi, a junkie who's a dancer at an S/M club, are having a lovers' quarrel when their beepers go off and each takes out a bottle of pills. It's the signal for an "AZT break," and suddenly they realize that they're both HIV-positive. Clinch.…

A movie that includes a variety of elements deserves being…

In the beginning of the movie I think the only person who falls under the open self category is Brian. He is upfront with the others about his grades, his academics, and his family. As the day goes on and he starts to bond more with the others he starts to talk about his thoughts and emotions as well. I didn’t think there was any one with a blind self. I felt that John was under the hidden self because he was just know for breaking rules, and doing what adults told him not to do. They also thought he was selfish and did not take into account any one else’s feelings or care about what he would say to the others. He then proves himself as not selfish when he distracts the princable…

As I got older, it became obvious to me that this movie was drastically over-dramatized, but being my overly optimistic self, this realization didn’t fully hit me until I walked through the doors of Forest Park High School on September 2, 2014. There was no singing, no dancing, and no Troy Bolton. At that moment…

Grew up in the 70s, so never got the Beatles phenomenon, the invasion, the crazy teenagers, and all that. Still don’t. Strangely though I know most of their tunes and some lyrics, the beginning part anyway. Since I was living through all these events- Vietnam war, riots, protests, etc – in unintended development oblivion (I was too young), I could only take the film at face value, i.e., lack of emotional association. Having said that, for me, this is just a longer version of a pre-Glee musical.…

Before Fiddler on the Roof, the Potomac State College Theatre Department had another play in mind: high school musical. After running into problems casting male actors, they decided to go in another direction, the broadway classic, Fiddler on the Roof. Panic! At The Disco is a band that has been around for about 10 years. Panic! At The Disco is my favorite band because the have a variety of different types of music to match whatever mood you are in. Their music is fun, catchy, and a little insane, but personally I don't mind. With every album their style changes one can be pure rock and the next can have a slow calming tune. This insures people won't get tired of their music. They have also released over 50 songs.…
