I didn't learn much from their teaching styles as well as including what they have expected of me. The most difficult part in high school was I didn't learn how to improve my studies. Even though I didn't bother caring about it until the last minute, I still didn't know how to ask for help. Now that I know that I have a problem with subjects, I must ask for help and ask questions.
This time, I am going to try better and concentrate more on my studies. Also I am going to be more prepared on what the professor is going to teach me and being more aware of my studies.
What worked for me was by taking notes during my classes and going over it until I understand it. But the thing that didn't work for me was the lectures that were given by the professor.
What I expect from college is that, I want to learn the tools and the skills that will help me towards my career. In order to have a better life as well as future, I have to build a life of my own based on the skills, techniques, and the styles that I have acquired during my stay in college.

Review the notes. It is best to first make sure you understand the “big picture” concepts of each topic covered, then move on to understanding details of each concept covered. Once you have studied the notes, go back and read the corresponding section in the textbook, as you will be much more familiar with the topic after class and some review of the notes.…

Starting high school was a terrifying idea to me. Different teachers, class times, lockers, drama! I remember that I always looked up to my older sister while she was in high school. She had tons of friends, played sports, participated in student government, and went out for the school play. I wanted to be just like her when I started high school. In middle school, I lined myself up for this, I played soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. I helped out in the school plays, and I joined the student government. I had a group of great friends, and thought nothing bad was going to happen.…

College is one of the periods of life where there is most growth, both personally and academically. Going to college is a very challenging yet rewarding experience. It brings people out of their comfort zones personally, whereas academically, people get to focus more on what they are good at. This exciting challenge is the main reason I want to go to college. Most people want to go to college to get a degree and earn a lot of money, which leads them to more expensive and selective colleges. The amount of work in high school was not as much as there is in college. For example, a high school student is tested bi-weekly. Therefore there are plenty of grades that make it easier to have a better grade in that class. I believe high school was easier and more lenient due to the fact the teachers were more personal with their students. For example if I needed help with a math assignment I could go to my teacher after school each day if I needed it. In college a student would go to their academic support center, email the teacher or ask a…

Expectations and college go hand in hand. Colleges have ridiculous expectations for us as students and students have this expectation that in college they will find their lives purpose, which is equally as ridiculous. My expectation for college as the rest of the student population is to find what I am meant to do and become a master at that particular thing. As of right now I want to become a teacher so my expectation for college is for it to educate me on becoming the best teacher possible. I want to leave college with the skills that allow me to hold the attention of a class, skills that give me the ability to teach an effective lesson, and those that give me the ability to make a different in someone’s future.…

In course of the lectures, the professor will demarcate certain sections of a chapter as important. These portions are likely to carry more weightage in the exam. Most of the time, professors will assign more things to read than you can possibly complete, as you will need to finish your individual assignments as well. Therefore, focus on what is being taught in the class so that you are able to have a clear perception of the major concepts.…
