"Machining Technology "(20 marks)
1) a- What arc the purposes of the cutting fluids? b- Explain with the aid of neat sketches the formation of built-up edge (BUE). What are the
disadvantages of these phenomena? c- List the advantages of hydraulic shaper comparing with the mechanical shaper.
2) a- What are the differences between the center and turret lathes? b -What is the meaning of the following characteristics of a grinding wheel:

c- It is required to turn a steel bar from 60 mm to 54 mm diameter for a length of 120 mm.
Calculate the machining time, if the cutting conditions are as follows:
The depth of cut is 1.5 mm, the feed rate is 0.3 mm/rev. and the cutting speed is 30 m/min.
(assume the approach and overtravel of the tool are 3 mm each)
