My choice For President of the United States: 2016 Presidential Campaign
For the De Portola presidential Mock Election of 2016, I choose Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton is a Democrat and the Democratic party believes in raising the minimum wage, a clean energy economy, confronting global threats, ending racism, ensuring health care systems, and unity. On the subject of the economy and jobs, Hillary Clinton supports minimum wage and affordable education (“democrats.org”). Adding on, Hillary believes that all students should have access to high-quality education, according to the source “Where Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton stand on Social Issues”. To elaborate on more social issues, according to the article, it states “We shouldn’t be ripping up Obamacare and starting over”. Obamacare is when a federal law is providing affordable care and patient protection which Hillary supports. Hiliary says “ immigrants in the U.S. illegally should be allowed to buy their own coverage using HealthCare.gov” which means Hillary Clinton wants people to be able to receive proper care although they are not …show more content…
“citizens”. On the other hand, Donald Trump is a Republican.
The Republican party stands for not increasing taxes for everyone, against obama's executive order, not illegal abortion, increase military spending, and opposing gay marriage, according to www.diffen.com. In “America’s Face-off.” by Smith Patricia explains Donald trump's views. Moreover, it states “Trump calls climate change “not one of our big problems.” He would “cancel” the Pairs climate change deal and supports constructing a new oil pipeline to Canada.” This quote means that global warming would not be one of his priorities and that climate change is not one of our “big” problems. Adding on, it also states “He has proposed a temporary ban on Muslims entering from entering the U.S. from certain countries.” This piece of evidence means that most Muslims would be taken out of the U.S. and would not be able to enter even though close to all of them would be close to bad (wsj.com). Adding on, in www.nytimes.com, it states “Mr. Trump wants to end Common Core and “educate locally.” This piece of evidence means that there would be no advanced classes and that all kids would be learning the same thing for every
class. Although Donald Trump does not want to increase taxes for everyone and wants to ban Muslims temporarily, Hillary Clinton would be a better choice because wants people to be able to receive proper care using obamacare and supports minimum wage and affordable education (democrats.org) . I believe that people should be taken care of even though they have entered illegally to the U.S. at least to be granted health. Also, i believe the minimum wage should be increased because some people need that and I also support that there should be affordable education so that multiple kids would be able to have a learning experience. Consequently, Hillary Clinton would be a better choice because she would help better the economy for everyone.
