Historical Events During Anne Frank
Untold numbers of Jews hid from the Nazis in the second world war. Anne Frank’s world-renowned diary tells the story of one family. In the play adaptation of the diary, eight people have been in hiding from the Nazis for an unexpectedly long time. They are becoming very agitated after being together for so long. The historical events referenced in Anne Frank affect the mood of the characters and how they act towards each other.
The historical events that take place during Anne Frank influence how the characters treat each other. One such example is the news of the Normandy landings. “Miep. The radio… The B.B.C.!     The holocaust was a time of pain, and misery; of loss, and death for six million innocent people. Sometimes, though, when faced with a plethora of appalling statistics that illustrate the immensity of this genocide, we lose sight of the individual victims themselves.
