1. The way that the defeat of the Spanish Armada affected the course of history is it gave other countries a chance. What I mean by that is that the Spanish had most control of the area here in America. The other countries wanted to have colonies or some control of the area like the Dutch, English, French and the Swedes. So with the defeat it gave those countries opportunities to settle land, start families, and to be part of the resources that America has. Later in future, for us to have so many different ethnics influences in this countries.
2. The differences between the Puritans and the Pilgrims were that they both came over to America. The Puritans came over to purify the church and Pilgrims came over to separate from the church. The Pilgrims had a little bit different mindset than the Puritans because the Pilgrims were wanting to set up families, build house, and discover land. The Puritans wanted to come to be involved in a church or settle a church and purify it. That’s why they got the name Puritans because they wanted to purify.
3. Some of the results of the Great Awakening were that it renewed the interest in missionary work. It also elevated the common man by giving him a self-authenticating religious experience. Another thing that resulted in it is it hastened the separation of church and state. It lead to the increase of piety and spirituality. It brought orthodox believers into anti-Calvinistic position.
4. The reason I think George Washington was a good selection was his great military background. They we hoping with his experience that he would work out great and unite the colonies. I think he was a great and strong leader. He knew how to control an army. The people made him are president because they thought he was a great leader. He was a great president when he was in office he served an additional four years.
