Plan of Investigation
!
The purpose of this investigation is to research the following question: To what
Extent Did the Kent State Shooting represent a turning point in the Anti- War
Movement between 1968-1975? The scope of the investigation is to establish the extent whether the killing of four students in 1970 changed the Anti-war movement under the Johnson and Nixon presidencies. In addition, the aim of the research is to explore the impact of the Kent State shootings on the change in public opinion about the war. To understand the context of the growth of the antiwar movement, one must look at what it was like before under President Johnson and how it changed under the Nixon administration. To determine the impact of the Kent State shootings on the anti-war movement I will be using academic books, journal articles and testimonies of participants. Two of the sources that will be evaluated for their origin, purpose, value and limitations will be photo that was taken from a senior at Kent State and the documentary “Kent
