People have the tendency to view specific actions as good or bad so they can justify their own actions in response to their negative perspective. The United States is a symbol of global power with its views of the world to be free and governed with justice. Americans have a firm ideology that they are the protagonists and their actions are dedicated for a greater good, but when an idea challenges them, they see it as their opposite, making it evil. During the Cold War in the second half of the 20th century, the United States felt like it was its duty to contain the villain that is communism as it contradicted American democracy and capitalism. It is logical for one to think good will prevail no matter what, but America has an over-excessive need to maintain a virtuous world that makes them reinforce with wrongful intrusion. In the half a century, America has invaded and undermined countless foreign governments to enforce its ideology; consequently, it causes the hatred of other countries toward America as they view them as evil. What seemed like a moralistic indoctrination has turned wicked because it deprives others with their individual ways of thinking. By making others believe a specific understanding, they disrespect their values as others have differently perception of a moral world, and it enables their holdings of the world. Because America has a higher power in the world, it will continue to reinforce its own belief of righteousness without being able to see its actions as unjustified.
Good and evil may have ambiguous viewpoints, but certain individuals take their own understanding and belief to an extreme by construing the idea with faultiness. Then, they used that misconceived notion of justice to achieve a selfish goal or enforce ideals with unethical acts.
