A fertilizer for student---------drama
With the diversification of educational method, drama has become an essential interactive activity in most schools during lessons, due to the various educational benefits. But some of the parents object using drama as a teaching assistant. Actually, the advantages and disadvantages are just like both sides of coin.
To start with the upsides of including drama into lessons, drama plays a crucial role in catalysing children's all-round development. The first dominance of drama is the attractiveness to children, drama has potential of making the learning experience fun for students since it is interactive and visual. Drama can also increase interactive active, learning purposefully and engage students. Besides, drama provides an excellent platform for exploring theoretical and critical thinking, therefore students can formulate and express their opinions logically. Moreover, drama can be used to bring multifarious literature to life for students, improvisation aspects of drama give students opportunities for developing their communication skill and building individual skill, then students can later use in the authentic situations. Hence, drama can boost students’ self-esteem and confidence.
In spite of the above benefits, some parents may argue that incorporating drama into lesson is a squander of time. Truly, revisions and practices of drama consume time, but they can help the indispensable elements for fostering students to become an all rounded individual. For example, by boosting speaking technique, confidence and broadening horizon. The crux of preventing drama becoming 'time wasting' is to take a balance between basic teachings and additional activities. Do you know suitable volume of fertilizer is a catalyzer for plant growth, but over-dose of fertilizer becomes a plant killer. Actually, drama is as same as fertilizer.
The downsides of incorporating drama into lesson are not only time consuming, but also arise peer comparisons. Some students may feel inadequate or self-conscious compared to those who are naturally good at drama. This phenomenon gives rise to peer pressure of students. Furthermore, not all students are automatic learners, therefore drama may not be attractive to them.
Generally, incorporating drama into lesson is a mixed blessing. On the one hand, it brings fun and a bunch of benefits. On the other hand, it squanders time and is not fit for all students with multitudinous character. Balance should be taken to boost children's learning interest effectively.

I believe that the best practices in early childhood education include children’s ideas, parent’s values and teacher’s suggestions. All of these will benefit children’s learning as well as give them a good understanding of the environment around them.
