12. Substitute Lesson Plan and Alternative Facility Lesson Plan
Substitute Lesson Plan:
Equipment:
2 yellow gator balls
4 bases
1 kickball
CD Player
Warm-up:
Hot Dog Tag (5 min):
There will be two taggers.
If tagged you will sit frozen on the ground. You have turned into a hot dog. You will say,
“Help, help I need a bun!”
Two non-tagger will come and sit next to the hot dog to make the bun. Once the bun is made all three are free to go and help others.
Taggers may not puppy guard hot dogs or buns.
Stop every few minutes and switch taggers.
Framing: Circle the class up to direct the instructions. Share with the students that we will be playing kickball. Everyone will have a chance to kick the ball.
Safety Briefing: No head shots or sliding!
Procedure:
Divided the class into two equal teams.
Catching a ball on defense doesn’t result in an out, you must tag someone, a base, and hit someone (safety).
3 outs needed to switch innings.
Variations:
When on offensive you must go around the bases twice to score a run. That means there will be an extra 5th base for students to stand on instead of home
