Holes and Katherine Barlow
My favourite part of the story is the part when the story when back in time to Katherine Barlow and Sam the onion man. Sam the onion man was a generous man and he loved Katherine Barlow. But when Trout Walker killed Sam and Mary Lou, she was so angry so she started robbing people, killing them then kissing them. Everyone burnt down her school and called her name to kissing Kate Barlow she after she was done her old student who was a gold digger was married to Trout Walker. They threaten to kill her but she said she wanted to be killed then a yellow spotted lizard came by. Linda Miller who was the old student shot it but missed. The yellow spotted lizard landed on Katherine and bit her she died a slow and painful death.
My favourite part of the story was when the warden came out to collect the golden lip cover that belonged to Katherine Barlow that Stanley found but X-ray took it and told he found it. The warden kept on saying to Mr. Pandanski was "Excuse Me?!" because Mr. Pandanski kept on talking back. The complain was about filling the canteens, caveman aka Stanley Yelnats was called up by the warden to give the canteen to her, she shook the canteen and said to Mr. Pandanski to hear the empty spaces. Mr. Pandanski filled the canteens and everyone had to start digging.
My favourite part of the story was when the story went back in time and told the story of Stanley's no good, rotten, pig stealing great, great grandfather Elya Yelnats. He loved a girl whose head was as empty as a flower pot. He was competing with a fat man to marry her, he went to Madame zeroni for advice to compete. Madame Zeroni told him to not marry her and go to America that was where her son was because her head was as empty as a flower pot but if he did want to marry her he had to take a piglet and carry it up the mountain everyday for it to drink water then if he did it he had to carry Madame Zeroni up the mountain. But if he forgot about Madame Zeroni he would be curse forever and

While the mysteries kept my attention, my favorite part of this novel was the characters. Todd is a delightful young boy who, while not overly troublesome, gets in his fair share of scrapes. His sisters Libby and Lilly Jean do not start off with much of a role, but they become more important as the novel continues. I found myself laughing with the family, crying with the family, and even getting upset for the family. To me, one of the gifts in writing is to be able to make your audience feel what the characters themselves feel. Ms. Ulmer makes this novel enjoyable by making her characters…

In conclusion, the story was a thriller. I liked how everybody went through so much to cover their tracks. I was not surprised that in the end they got caught because it was pretty obvious with all the mistakes that they make throughout the novel by leaving footprints and personal belongings at the murder scene. I learned that the teachers who are the most strict and have the highest expectations are the ones who can help you. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend because it was very interesting to…

The Bass, The River, and Sheila Mant by W. D. Wetherell, and Lamb to the Slaughter by Ronald Dahl display a theme of acting on impulse. This relates to our lives in many ways, In our everyday lives many things trigger us to act on impulse; when our parents chose to fight with us, we tend to ‘snap’ back, not thinking about how our actions could affect us in the long run. These stories share the theme of ‘acting on impulse’, even though they have different characters, settings, and events.…

    2. A memorable section from the story would be when Evans, Sarah, Kenner, and Sanjong attempt to stop these rockets from creating a huge lightning storm. I didn’t enjoy the story because of the Grandmother’s personality and the tragic ending. The Grandmother was racist and rude which made her a bad example for her grandkids. She is teaching them that it is okay to call other children of other race the n-word instead of teaching them to respect others. In addition, she forgot that the plantation was in Tennessee, not in Georgia. She didn't want to tell the truth because she feared Bailey would become furious and ultimately they were all killed at the end of the story. If she had told the truth as soon as she remembered, then everyone would have still been alive. Moreover, The Misfit didn’t have to murder the family especially knowing that there were a baby and children. I believe that if the…

The majestic plastic bag was my favourite and all the credit goes to the voice that narrates the entire journey. The voice was just perfect and sounded all serious and intense where as the intended meaning was the exact opposite. Its pretty amazing how they managed to make fun of the whole documentary thing an yet ended up conveying a message in the form of a YouTube video. And you know they’ve succeeded in making their point when you actually start feeling for the plastic bag. Every time they compare the plastic bag to a living creature in the jungle not only is it funny but also ironical in the way they make the dog and the garbage cleaner and the fish look like the antagonists. The ending is the best part, by saying the plastic bag can now live forever they are actually trying to convey the hypocrisy of the entire “happily ever…
