I am writing this letter regarding your son, Peter Morton. We thought it would be very beneficial to inform you of the changes we have made in reference to strategies at Hollybank Care facility in the hope to fulfil Peter’s positive experience with us.
As you already know we specialise in making sure people like Peter benefit from the changes we are making, although their opinion is crucial to us at Hollybank we would also like to make sure that you have a clear understanding of what is happening and that you are fully on board. In relation to Peter having cerebral palsy we recognise that his muscles play a big part in his communication skills. It is surgically placed in the abdomen. A thin, flexible silicone tube called a catheter is inserted near the spine and connected to the pump. Essentially it will relax his muscles and decrease he stress levels so he can focus on his communication and will continue to thrive, so far this device has proven to drastically improve Peter’s communication skills such as speech and even certain facial expressions that he seemed to find challenging before he is now practicing with ease. Things also such as pace of his voice seems to have increased so this is very positive for his communication and speech development.
