Being actively conscious implies that a person can think for themselves and it is an abnormal sign for a homeless person because of their status in society. In addition, medication serves as a “helping” tool to those who voice out their thoughts as a strategic way to place them into rehab centers to readjust their ways of thinking to become compliant with rules. According to staffs, a medical concern is always someone who is non-compliant with the policy. Historically, some churches that are donating their time to give out foods to homeless people, their strategy is to transform people’s belief to religious values so that they can be saved from their problems. Most religious people believe that the best way to save people from the streets is for them to become Christians. In this way, they can repent from their sins. The idea of paternalism is very evident in this ideology because it reinforces the idea of helping people for the sake of their own good by changing their sets of beliefs without taking into consideration of their rights to religious
