Homelessness Analysis
Homelessness in the dictionary is defined as having no home or permanent place of residence. Homeless to me is defined as loneliness, hurt and no security. One day as I was riding with my mother I noticed a man on the side of the street holding cardboard entitled “Jobless, Homeless, Please help”. I began to grow older I saw more of this happening not only as I rode down the street in my city but other States I would visit. From time, I would see people donating money to the homeless, but I wanted more for them, I wanted them to be placed in a home, I wanted them to be happy. This is why Homelessness is a zero tolerance to me. Everyone at some point of their life has been without rather it was the new iPhone or you just haven't eaten in a few hours. Imagine not eating for days or not having a stable place to rest your head with your family. Through two thousand fifteen, one hundred million people were reported homeless around the world. bad because the victims will suffer from many effects, but there as many things that could be done to help cease the situation. Homeless is mostly triggered by the lost of a job, in fact thirty-eight percent of people who fall homeless is because of a job lost. Without any finances coming into the home families are not able to maintain housing which leads to homelessness. As the economy gets worse less people are offered jobs which causes more people to be in this situation. In other cases victims may have a stable job where they are earning money but their bills are in result higher than the earning they are receiving. Drug and alcohol abuse is also a factor of becoming homeless. In addition nine percent of people who become homeless is because they struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. Drug and alcohol abuse has been a big problem for many decades. Homelessness affects the world in several negative ways.
Homeless families are most likely to not be able to give their kids an education because of the fact the families move so much. Homeless families are not stable and are not able to give their home which would most likely result to the kids not having much any education if any. Without the ability to attend school, many will go through life illiterate. Without basic skills such as being able to read or do simply mathletics homeless people are less likely to find a job. This creates many issues of its own. 20 percent of the homeless are forced into sexual relations with another just to meet everyday living needs. As this continues to happen more children are born into homelessness because their parent can not afford to take care of he or she. The cycle will continue to happen if no one tries to help the homeless while it can be
done. Homeless shelters are available to citizens and groups are made to help the homeless such as the Anti-Poverty Committee and Jesus Others and You (JOY) Inc. Homeless shelter are very limited for citizens , the shelter in Greenville, North Carolina can only shelter 150 people a night. This is an issue because more than 500 people are homeless each night in Greenville, North Carolina. Human right twenty-five states “food and shelter for all”. Homeless is going against this right because the nation is not procing food and shelter for all citizens. Even though there are shelter, shelter are still limited. The government should come together and help their citizens out because that is what they are ordered to do.
In my clousion, I think their are many ways that can be taken to cease the problem of homelessness. Strengthen the government system to get money to go towards homeless weather it's to build more shelters or to provide more food. Not only the government but the people of the world also can come unite to help. You can help whether its donating food, clothes or even just a blanket. Anything you can afford can impact the victim's life. Social media can be used also, over 65% of all adults have a social media account. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, blogs such as Mediatakeout.com all help. Possibilities are endless in putting a stop to poverty of Homelessness.
