Homer Baron Character Analysis

Homer Baron is an important figure in this story because he shows the reader that you must look beyond the surface before judging someone. Although, this is not clear we can make this inference based on subtle hints the narrator gives to us. For instance, the narrator leads us to believe that Homer is gay based on his word choice. However, one cannot make this conclusion given the tone of the story. The narrator is speaking as a member of the town; and the towns people gossip about everything without all the details.
