Bio 392 Mammalian Physiology Denielle Chapman April 14th, 2017
Vision is a way of making sense of the world that, for all mammals, could arguably be the most important sense of the five that we have. For Homo sapiens, the way we perceive the world through our power of sight, came from the species of primates that existed before us according to research done on the skull sizes of primates (Heesy and Ross, 2000). The science behind the research can be seen not just in other primates but in us as well and shows how the origins of the mutations that gave us our trichromacy was initially created. It is surprising though just how little research has been done in the last ten years especially since technology has advanced further and could open new possibilities of study for scientists.
