Honda Pilot Vs Toyota Highlander Essay
With there being so many vehicle options today it can be very stressful shopping for a new car. Once you have decided on the type of vehicle you are looking for, sedan vs an SUV or pickup, you still have several options to narrow down. If the midsize SUV is what you have decided is the best vehicle for you I would suggest considering the Toyota Highlander or the Honda Pilot. The Toyota Highlander has a better safety rating than the Honda Pilot; however the Honda Pilot does offer similar gas mileage, but a different body style than the Toyota Highlander. It is the safety technology in the highlander that pushed it above the rest. The Highlander Limited offers a technology package that includes several additional safety features. The Pre-Collision System available gives the vehicle an advanced front crash prevention rating. The technology package also includes blind side monitor, land departure warning and automatic high beam headlights. If your biggest concern is the gas mileage of either vehicle you won’t be able to use it as a deciding factor between these vehicles. They both have similar size gas tanks, the Highlander has a 19.2 gallon tank while the Pilot has a 19.5 gallon tank, so the stops at a gas station will be about the same with either vehicle. The highway mileage is the same for both with a 24-25 range. There is a slight difference in the city with the Highlander coming in at 18-20 mpg and the Pilot 17-18 mpg. The biggest difference that, will ultimately be the biggest deciding factor would be the body style, leg/head room and the cargo room that each vehicle offers. The Pilot has a distinctive boxy exterior where the Highlander has a more rounded sleek looking exterior. There is additional cargo room in the Pilot than you will find in the Highlander. The front row of the Highlander offers additional leg room then the Pilot, though most will find the third row in the Pilot a little roomier then then

They have different variations of two-wheel drive trucks with stock suspension, four-wheel drive trucks with stock suspension, but the for the pure off-roaders Chevrolet has created the four-wheel drive with Z71 suspension. Any truck that has this suspension is ready for the roughest of terrain. The Z71 package includes bigger, 18 inch aluminum wheels which are fitted on with off-road blackwall tires. Blackwall meaning, a more aggressive tread pattern and thicker rubber to withstand puncture wounds. So not only does the truck sit higher off the ground for more clearance but also gives it a more aggressive stance to take on deep ruts or large bumps. The biggest difference between stock and Z71 is the suspension. Z71 provides the truck with specially tuned shock coils and mono tube shocks giving the overall suspension better support for the truck itself. Other features are included in the Z71 package too like its rear locking differential to improve power in the drive shaft. This means that all of the wheels are moving with the same amount of horsepower, rather than the wheels individually feeling whether or not they have traction beneath them and adjusting torque by themselves. Thus giving the truck a better advantage on slippery roads or muddy…

It did not take long for people to realize the driver of a high-speed metal projectile with inadequate equipment was not only a danger to himself, but to others as well. With the inadequacy of safety, the start of the American automobile evolution brought soaring rates of injuries and traffic deaths but today these statistics have changed dramatically. In 1908, Henry Ford presented the American public an inexpensive and efficient automobile called the Model T. Soon after the growth of the automobile, serious safety issues developed into concerns.…
