Honesty Is the Best Policy
Honesty.

Having a relationship is a compromise and it comes along with many responsibilities. A good relationship can’t just be found, It has to be created. A good relationship requires the happy and willing effort of two lovers, and this makes it grow more with each passing day. One of the most important things in a relationship is being honest. If you don't trust the person your with, the relationship will never work. honesty in a relationship is a very real value that we should do everything in our power to keep alive. The health and longevity of the relationship depends upon it. If we can’t trust those who are closest to us we cannot rely on them in times of stress or in a crisis. It leaves us filled with doubt rather than imbued with confidence and it gradually eats away at the relationship until it is destroyed.

To begin with, when we hide our true feelings, we often think that we are protecting another person from hurt. We ignore it just to avoid confrontation with someone. Most of us were taught that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Honesty is telling "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Society's definition of the truth telling is to tell the truth ONLY if it doesn't make anyone uncomfortable, doesn't cause a conflict, and it makes you look good. I'm not talking about the big lies, but more about the consistent, persistent "lies of omission" and "white lies" we tell people almost everyday. For me, I didn't even consider these small untruths to be lies until I experienced the exact opposite, the whole truth. Honesty is essential to the health of a romantic relationship. We should feel safe to speak our mind to our boyfriend of girlfriend.

Also I would like to say, honesty is very important in a relationship if there's no honesty then there's no relationship honesty and love are the main thing you build a relationship on. A relationship is like a building or a

Callwood’s essay supports my views on integrity and trust. When she says, “For the long haul, they want a truth speaker” I completely agree with this point because I have come across an untruthful person; I had a best friend in grade seven and this friendship only lasted for about two years because she would tell me lies and would never tell me the truth until I found out. I wanted our relationship to consist of full honesty but she continued to do the opposite. Ever since that experience, I have been fully committed to integrity and trust in all of my relationships with others. However, there could be many people in this world who do not rely on integrity as a factor of maintaining a long and healthy relationship.…

Article “Can We Talk? Researcher Talks About the Role of Communications in Happy Marriages” suggests that if we continue to keep our interpersonal communication relationships open and not become strangers of self-disclosure we are more likely to have stronger relationships. Taking risks is the only way we can learn and feel and grow and have meaningful relationships (Sole, 2011).On a personal note, I feel that I can relate to this article with me and my current boyfriends relationship. When we first dated my boyfriend was not very interested in making our relationship steady, he refrained from talking about his family or any personal life details. Our relationship seemed doomed from the beginning but after staying together for a while and becoming more serious we both opened up about our private lives, communicating from the same intensity level. Our relationship communication strength alone helped create the constantly increasing successful relationship that we share.…

The only things that human beings need to survive in this world are: food, shelter, and relationships. Humans by nature cannot successfully exist on their own, for that reason they are instinctively inclined to crave relationships with others. Whether a relationship be romantic or strictly platonic, it is crucial that one develop a proper foundation before trusting wholeheartedly. The foundation of a relationship, much like any other type of foundation, protects it from threatening outside forces, such as people with malicious intentions, or simply the trials of life in general. I feel that a relationship should always be based upon honesty and acceptance. When you can fully accept yourself, honesty will come naturally. This in return will leave your partner feeling comfortable with you, knowing there is nothing to hide. If two people can see each other in full view with complete acceptance, they can build a successful relationship from this Honey..i do want you to know that am not here for game..i do want to be with you and show you how i do care for you..One key secret to a successful relationship is compromise. Meeting halfway on things shows your partner that you really do care about their viewpoint and you are willing to work on making each other happy. Every so often make it a point to do something that you normally would not agree to or feel like doing. So, when your partner asks if you want to try that new restaurant…Love is obviously a crucial element in a successful long-term relationship. But having love isn't enough. You need to be in love. The phrase "love is a verb, not a noun" certainly applies here. Don't hesitate to write that quick love note, give that deep kiss, sit next to each other at a restaurant or hold hands in public. Lies are commonly told to protect others emotions and their self-esteem, yet lies still are seen as wrong. So why is it so hard sometimes to handle the truth? Isn’t it better to be hearing the truth than being lied to your face? Maybe the problem is not the lies themselves, but we as a people lacking the ability to understand the truth and its effects that it can have. This would require that we learn better ways to resolve conflicts and the capabilities to move on from those situations. We need to question, “Would I rather be deceived right now and have the conflict become worse later, or get it over with right now?” Once we learn the benefits of telling the truth and become capable of understanding these benefits then we will be able to live in a society of complete honesty.…

    Way We Lie

First off let me start of by saying that we lie. We all do. We exaggerate, we leave out things, we avoid confrontation, we try to be inconsideration of other people feelings, we conveniently forget some aspects of the truth and even keep secrets. Like most people, I find myself in situations of small falsehoods and still think of my self of an honest person. Sure I lie, but it’s not really bothering anyone or anything.…

In the article “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” he says that telling the truth can keep a relationship based on reality while also saying that lying keeps people locked their own mind. He states that. “‘ Many people think think they tell the truth, but they don’t because they withhold information. Have the courage to be honest and have a relationship with others based on reality’” (5). If people did not lie then they know that their relationships with friends are based off of facts and not manipulated information. However most relationships are not perfect and some relations might even end if everyone did not withdraw information to one another. The article also says that, “‘But it’s just as likely that you’ll end up losing people whom you don’t want around you anyway’” (15). But if people be honest to each other, they might lose people that they actually want in their lives. Being honest is good but if one is honest they are very likely to offend people and lose friendships in the end. In conclusion, Blanton says that telling the truth can help a relationship with a friend as well as saying that lying keeps people locked in their own minds however relationships can never be perfect and if people were honest they might lose their…

For the most part, successful relationships are based on honesty, communication, trust, and most importantly compromise. When you are in a relationship that has a foundation based on those characteristics, it makes you feel connected with that person. 1. Sacramento State University has a strict Academic Honesty policy, which requires students to adhere to a set of guidelines when doing homework or writing an essay for any class at the University. As a student, the responsibility of following this policy is major when testing, writing, or any other homework for a class at the University. The student is responsible for all of his/her work, and making sure there is no dishonest behavior or plagiarism present when doing the work. An example of a violation would be logging on a computer, going to a site such as USAToday.com, finding an article, copying the article text word-for-word, and including that same text in your paper or essay. The opposite of that scenario would be simply complying with the policy. That would involve researching a topic, again logging onto a computer, and going to a website such as USAToday.com. After you find an article for your paper, instead of just copying the article text word-for-word, a summary would be a way to start. Once you summarize the article, break the text down in your own words, and take the vital information from the article, without plagiarizing.…

Another aspect is you want to be able to trust someone when they tell you something and they’re telling the full truth to you and not hiding anything from you. I’ve learned from past experiences that if you get lied to it is hard to trust that person again. Or maybe anyone because if they can lie to you then so can a lot of people and we really don’t want that with anyone. We want to be able to trust people. Being lied to often brings suspicions to cheating, so they snoop through their things, read their text messages, or even following them because of the suspicions they have. This leads to the last aspect: cheating.…

It is true that honesty is the best policy. Today, we see many things around us which are not honest. Many persons are dishonest. Dishonesty may shine for some time. It may earn money, power and men. But all this is for a short time. Honesty is courageous, dishonesty is a coward. Honesty is bound to shine after the night of dishonesty. There is no place for dishonest people on the earth. They lose the battle in the end. An honest person only can win a place in the hearts of people. Double-faced men get temporary response but they are thrown out of people's hearts. Dishonesty cannot face the reality. It has to say hundred lies to hide one act of dishonesty. Therefore honesty is the best policy. Honesty truly is the best policy. Honesty is the best policy”… It is a widely recognized saying of Benjamin Franklin and it is considered one of the wisest sayings. It means that honesty was an important trait even several centuries ago. Benjamin Franklin wrote Poor Richard's Almanack, which consisted of wise aphorisms, or sayings. "Honesty is the best policy" is one of his sayings that is universally recognized and encouraged. This phrase signifies the importance of being a moral and truthful person Honesty is an important and admirable characteristic that a person can have. I agree with the statement honesty is the best policy. Everyone, to succeed in his or her life, should follow it. Though we can make money by improper ways, it would not give us good status in society. I believe that honesty is important for both personal life and business life. As we go through the history of the great leaders, they all succeed in their life mainly by their life style. They all followed the truth and honesty. Honesty is very important in many aspects of our life. If we are honest, everyone will believe us.…
