Leadership plays a vital role in driving organisations towards success as able leaders help the organisations in taking appropriate decisions and also make sure that the decisions are implemented effectively for the benefit of the organisations. Therefore, finding and nurturing leadership talent has become a primary concern for the organisations. This is evident in the services industry which is people-oriented. Infosys Technologies Ltd. (Infosys) is one of the companies in the Indian IT industry which recognised the need for leadership and has even setup a leadership institute in order to groom its employees and develop them into efficient leaders. For this purpose, it segregates the high-performing employees in the company into three-tiers based on their work-experience. It has also developed various programmes that enable the employees to hone their skills and thereby become self-sufficient to handle any complex roles.
