Nightingale Community Hospital's mission is to restore health, relieve suffering and to make sure that the patients regardless of their social status, they remained in good health in all periods of life.
Nightingale Community Hospital was built in Tawas City in 1946, immediately after WWII, it was at that time a modern and innovative institution, with a courageous, pioneering thinking for psychiatric treatment, surgery, dermatology, internal medicine and obstetrics. Procedures at that time were very successful in the field of modern healthcare practices in the late 1940's and beginning of 1950's. Nightingale Community Hospital kept pace with the most modern hospitals in the country, and has remained so to this day. Long tradition in the healthcare services and playing a pioneering role in the development of medicine have made this hospital a provider of health services at a very high level, not only locally, statewide, but also nationwide.
