Introduction
Hospital XXX is a government hospital situated in Pahang and was the last hospital to be implemented in the Hospital Information and Communication Technology System (HICT) Package 1 project. It is a BHIS (Basic Hospital Information System) type hospital from IT perspective (as defined by MOH in their stated policy). Solution for Hospital Information System from iSoft has been implemented at Hospital Pekan since 2xxx with the following modules of eHIS 5.x installed: * Patient Management System * Clinician Access (CA) – only Order Entry and Result Reporting * Patient Billing * Medical Record * Mortuary Management System
The basic scope of the Hospital Pekan covers the following functionalities: * Registration, including integration to MyKad * Admission, Discharge and Transfer * Bed Management * Appointment Scheduling * Outpatients and Emergency Patients Management * Patient Billing * Order Entry and Result Reporting (for the Service Departments like Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Allied Therapy, Operation Theatre etc.) * Medical Records Management, which include patient file tracking
Currently orders for the Service Departments are placed in eHIS via the Order Entry module and since there isn’t any ancillary service systems like Radiology Information System (RIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS), Pharmacy Information System (PHIS) etc., such orders would remain within CA module only. For example laboratory users currently access CA to enter the results via the Result Reporting module. This is not an ideal work process since
