In the film hotel Rwanda, the Tutsis are being hunted and assassinated so paul lets them hide in his hotel and his hotel slowly turns into a refugee camp. Paul says he did this because he could not leave and watch them die knowing that he could help. Paul leaves his family and goes back to the hotel and keeps it open to the Tutsi refugees this is significant because if paul did not go back to help them thousands of lives would have been lost because these refugees were depending on the hotel as a safe house from the Hutus. If paul left the refugees would have to find shelter in abandoned buildings or other places that put them in a high-risk situation.
In conclusion, I believe paul made all these choices to help the Tutsis because his family was part Tutsi, also he had a sense of authority in the area and with that sense of authority, he could help the Tutsi refugees survive by using his hotel of a safe house. I also believe paul did this because he did not want to feel guilt if thousands of lives were lost because he did not stay. In total all these choices paul made he saved over 1200
