I need this money. I'm the man of the house I the one who's supposed to take care of everyone. If my mom doesn't get the treatment she needs she's going to die. I wish this shit was free. What kind of man am I? Twenty seven years old living at home. What a joke, I am cashier at a pizzeria. What a joke I am. Some example I set for my little sister. Cashier making eight dollars an hour living in this small apartment. I need this money. I need our lives to change, save my mother’s life. Seriously fuck this alarm. Maybe I should just oversleep and not do this. No fuck it time to man up. My poor mom and innocent little sister, I am going save us, I am going to get this money I need this money. In creating this character I tried to show the average human being. Working a bad job living pay check to pay check. Living in a small apartment trying to help provide for his family. Only in his case his mother is dying and he doesn’t make enough to pay for their survival and her treatment she needs as well. So he blames himself. He works at this pizzeria and he contemplates stealing money from the place he works. I chose this vocabulary because the average human being who works in a pizzeria maybe didn’t go to college and he’s miserable so the slang shows his ignorance and the curse words show his frustration with his life.
I used this viewpoint to show that people have many problems in their life that they don’t show. People see the hard surface the outside of someone but don’t know what they could be going through. I wanted to demonstrate that this kid was living a tough life but he was also tough surviving and going through what he has been going through. I wanted him to be the pizza guy living at home making no pay to show that not all people like that are lazy or stupid and don’t care but they are just put into difficult situations. I think they make the character relatable they make him vulnerable because of what he's going through to help show the person he is and he’s just going through a tough time and about to make a stupid decision but he’s not a bad person.
