House Taken Over Analysis
Why are stories scary? Transformation is often used in scary stories to signify unexpected consequences. By that i mean stories give an anticipation and series of events to a climax or tipping point in the story causing a reaction of fear in the reader. In that stories such as “fall of the house of the usher”, “House taken over” and “beware: do not read this poem”, all have events leading to a transformation signifying unexpected consequences.
The short story “house taken over” shows transformations of events and occurrences through the story. “When i heard something in the dining room or library”. (¶ 6) The house they live in is empty and the narrator and his sister irene live in the house and the narrator hears a sound in the house and
