The animals used within media are only being used for people entertainment are will be used in things such as TV shows and films. The welfare of the animals will be effected as there is a lot of intense training involved in order to get animals to perform certain tricks or do certain actions at the correct time in the filming just as the directors would like because the training is so intense the animal could become stressed with the training as it would just being do the same things so the training would eventually become bored and stressed with the training so the animal could end up hurting the trainers and handlers not meaning to and also if the film is being done in a lot of places and the animal is needed within the scenes …show more content…
The sport that have been listed above can have a huge impact on the welfare of the animals used in them for example the horse used within the horse racing can easily injury themselves during the race they can suffer minor injuries such as slicing their tendons on things such as jumps which would cause the horse a lot of pain and would prevent them from racing until they have recovered also this would be a very costly veterinary bill but then some horse can experience more severe injuries such as broken neck or broken legs due to jumping wrongly this could be down to other horses in the way this type of injury is unfixable so would result within the horse being put down. Animals used with hunting are mainly horses and dogs but will occasionally take falconry birds out on the hunts they hunters usually hunt rabbits or foxes as they are classed as pest as there is a considerably high number of them in the wild. Horse riding can have positive and negative animal welfare effects on the animal the positive ones would be that the horse is getting exercise so it’s not cooped up in a stable all day and they would be able to express natural behaviours such as walking, trotting, cantering and galloping and possibly jumping over fences depending on the rider’s level of experiences. The negative effects would be that a horse could be overworked which would cause lameness would mean the horse would be unable to be ridden during this time and would not be able to go into the fields in order to express natural behaviours and to bond with its herd so it would be kept in the stables for a long period of time until it has recovered also the horse will be worked very little in order to help the lameness go away and getting the horse back to a condition in which its able to be ridden again also if the horse is worked to often it could cause strain in neck muscles as there neck would constantly being pulled on by new riders as the reins are how the rider controls which way the horse needs go and this done by pulling on the reins which causes the horses neck to move and also the horse could get injured when the riders are using a crop and tapping with their legs in order to get the horse to move.
