How are teachers important To me, teachers are an extremely important facet of any society for a multitude of reasons. They are the people who educate the youth of society who in turn become the leaders of the next generation of people. They are also the ones who are teaching and imparting their knowledge upon children in their most impressionable years. What these children learn from their teachers at a young age will most likely stay with them for the rest of their lives. Thus, teachers definitely have a significant mark on the development of children, no matter young or old. Teachers teach them and help them develop their knowledge so that they can go on in life and be responsible and productive members of society.
One of the most important aspects of any society is the youngest generation, as they represent the future and the direction that society will take. Teachers can enrich a young generation of children so that the future is a safe and secure place to live in for every person in the society. As every person has been to school up until at least a certain point in his or her life, every person can attest to the fact that the right teacher who truly cares about his or her job can definitely have a profound effect on his or her students. A student will become significantly more interested in learning if his or her teacher is really invested in teaching the subject matters. If a teacher finds a way to engage his or her students in an interesting yet informative manner than all of this teacher's students will certainly develop a thirst for learning and acquiring knowledge.
A teacher that can get a student at a young age to realize the value in learning and a solid education is doing a great service not only to that child, but also to society in general. A better society will develop if children want to learn and become smarter. We only need to think about the rate of technological innovation to see the importance in education. So much of our daily life is wholly dependent on the vast array of technological innovations that have come about in fairly recent years, such as computers, smart phones, cars and planes. It is really hard for anyone to imagine a world without many of these technological innovations.
Primary school teaching is the single most important profession in the world. Teachers pass on knowledge and values to children, prepare them for further education and for working life and are main contributors to good education. This most important profession however does not get the recognition it deserves. In this developed world, young people don’t want to become a primary school teacher anymore. In most developing countries the profession does not attract qualified and ambitious people because it is poorly remunerated. The days that a primary school teacher was a highly respected person are gone. To attain the goal of universal and good primary school education, teaching has to become an attractive profession again. Teachers are one of the main pillars of a sound and progressive society. They bear the weight and responsibility of teaching, and, apart from parents, are the main source of knowledge and values for children.
The universally subscribed goal that “by 2015 all children, particularly girls, children in difficult circumstances and those belonging to ethnic minorities, have access to complete free and compulsory primary education of good quality" (Declaration of The World Education Forum held in Dakar, Senegal in 2000) can only be achieved if children can have access to motivated and knowledgeable teachers. They are the resource by excellence. The books are important and so are the chairs to sit on, but if there is no motivated teacher, to teach, and how to pick up knowledge and values, the goal will never be achieved. It does not have to be teachers in school, who teach us. There are also other teachers out there, in all prospects, be it a doctor or a chef. However, at the end of the day, it all boils down to our choice and commitment. Be it whether there is a good teacher, if we do not rely on them so much as to be handicapped should they not ‘leash’ us along and teach us. We should still be able to study on our own, because teachers are not there our entire lives, because there are other students teachers have to help too. The world does not only revolve around us only. However, that does not mean that teachers are not necessary, because students might have queries and the internet, despite having mostly everything, might not have what the specific question is asking for. Additionally, should we come across any problems and issues in our lives, we could also consult teachers or counsellors for help to overcome these problems emotionally and psychologically.
If we did not have all these help from parents and teachers alike, would we know proper manners and values and be responsible people when we are in society? Without the support from teachers all this while, would we have been able to make it so far? Thus, teachers are essential in our lives as they lay out the stepping stones for us to help us progress smoothly and do the best they can to ensure that we have a good education under them and become successful one day. Even when we are successful one day, we should not forget the help and support we had received, and repay back those who helped us along the way, through simple acts such as visiting teachers at your previous school. Teachers play an important role in our lives, as the little things they do to set us back on the right path could have possibly led to our success.
