How Can We Show
HOW CAN WE SHOW THAT WE ARE MINDING THE SPIRIT

In anything we do, there must be a force that drives our action and speech. Let’s have a look at Romans 8:6 and examine what kind of mindset we should cultivate. Read.

As the scripture points out, being a spiritual person is not just a matter of personal preference. It is a matter of life and death. So then, let us look into a few ways we can show we that we are minding the spirit.

Since the Bible itself is a product of God’s spirit, what better way could there be than to read it daily.
We must diligently study the Bible. By doing so, God’s spirit can influence our mind and heart and we will develop a spiritual inclination and attitude. Thus our mindset will be controlled and impelled by His active force.
However, it is important to note that knowledge of God’s word is not enough.
Remember King Solomon. He knew Jehovah’s standards very well. But then what happened? He came to have many foreign wives. And soon he was following after their gods. In fact, he practiced some sort of interfaith just so that he could please his wives. If he was minding the spirit, would he have done so?
Yes from his example, we learn that we must obey Jehovah wholeheartedly.

Another way is by displaying godly qualities. What are they? Let’s find out at Galatians 5:22, 23. Read.
How do we manifest the fruitage of the spirit in our life?
If we have love, it will move us to forgive one another freely. Besides, love for neighbor moves us to share the kingdom good news with other. We will thus be motivated to have a fuller share in the kingdom preaching work.
In addition, we would avoid a competitive spirit in the congregation. There shouldn’t be such thing as: I put in more hours in the ministry than you so I’m better than you, or I am a pioneer and you’re not. Brothers will avoid viewing privileges of service as a position of authority. Such kind of behavior is of fleshly origin. If we are to mind the spirit, we will view

In his book Share Jesus Without Fear, William Fay lays out an easy and attainable way for one to reach people for Christ. A former mobster, and prostitution house owner, Fay says that if “God can take somebody like me and change him, he can take anybody in your life and change him as well.”1 In an easy to understand, comprehensive way, Fay shows how to overcome your fears and witness to those who are lost. By breaking down the six most common excuses one uses not to evangelize, he shows how to overcome the roadblocks that we place on ourselves. For instance, one of the fears he addresses is the fear of rejection. Fay points out that one must realize that this is not a contest. He says, “success is sharing your faith and living your life for Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with bringing anyone to the Lord.”2 He goes on to say that it takes someone 7.6 times of hearing the Gospel before they give their lives to Christ. Just because you may have been the 3rd, does not mean that it didn’t make a difference. Throughout the book Fay lays out questions to ask, verses to go to, and objections that you will encounter, to lay out a way for you to share your faith with others without excuse.…

My spirit began to search for more of God . It is apparent that I must fast, pray and read my bible on a daily basis so that I can focus on God and build a closer relationship with him. This book is an excellent resource for counseling for those who need guidance in incorporating spiritual disciplines in a secularly dominated society. The only way this will be instrumental in counseling is to refer to its teaching and allow the Holy Spirit to make it conducive and acceptable in the counseling session. Many Christian counselors can use this resource to reach a level of maturity that will translate into true healing and…

We drink from Our Own Wells by Gustavo Gutiérrez describes that when we walk in spirituality, it is according to the spirit of love and life. Drinking from one’s well is a spiritual experience, the Christians in Latin America were learning how to be followers of Christ, they needed to walk with and be committed to the poor. I follow Jesus as he chose me, I was just an ordinary man pursuing my education, but God has called me to follow him in order to be a witness to life. Following Jesus is oriented to the horizon of resurrection, definitive life. “It talks about the journey that we have to walk according to the Spirit.”…

In conclusion, Elmer Towns states the Bible is an awesome comforter and provider. “ Perhaps the greatest influence of the Bible is its convicting, convincing, converting power to all who honestly accept its message and believe in Jesus Christ” (Towns, 2007 p. 24). The Word provides the reading audience a powerful belief of God being the real and a big deal. He is not the Author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14: 33) For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints (KJV). We must be aware that God comes to make peace with us. Once one has agreed to accept a spiritual relationship with God, you adopt off the former and bring on a new. Why not test Him and partake of the promise He has put aside for you to experience eternal life by keeping His commandments.…

    My Philosophy of Ministry

    • 430 Words

The second part of my philosophy of ministry is to train leaders. A leader in the church is a godly servant who is influencing others in the church. Building leadership development in the local church is vital to the continual growth of the ministry (Acts 6: 3-4; 2 Tim. 2:2). I want to always be in the process of training individuals and preparing them to step into a leadership position. The leadership training process needs to include not only theological study and “hands-on” involvement, but community and relationship development as well.…
