thought that if he could make the electrical current copy the sound waves, he would be able to project voices the same way that telegraphs transmitted Morse code. The early stages of the telephone started off as acoustic telegraphy. At that time, Bell was working with the electrical designer Thomas Watson. He allowed Watson to start designing some of his ideas. Throughout 1874 and 1875, Bell and Watson worked hard on the harmonic telegraph and a voice transmitting device. The two of them worked on the acoustic telegraphy using reeds: the reeds copied the sounds; if not words of communication.
When Watson accidentally removed one of the reeds, Bell and Watson made a discovery. The sound that was being transmitted to Bell showed him that he only needed one reed or item that could vibrate correctly to conduct the sound(How did Alexander Graham Bell make the telephone? | Reference.com). On March 10, 1876, Bell and Watson were successful. Bell called his first phone “Liquid Transmitter.” It was a vertical metal cone with a piece of parchment extended like a drum over its narrow end at the base, in the outside of the parchment he had glued a cork with a needle inserted in it pointing into a small cup of diluted sulphuric acid. When Bell yelled into the open end of the cone his voice made the parchment vibrate and the needle moved a bit in response to a contact in the cup. The needle was wired to a battery and the motion mixed with the strength of the current transmitting between the contacts. It converted sound wave into an electric signal that traveled along a wire to a receiver. While Bell was setting up his experiment he tipped over some acid on himself. He shouted to his assistant, Watson, who had heard the
message. The first regular telephone exchange was established during 1878 in New Haven. Early phones were leased in pairs to subscribers. They were required to put up his own line to connect with another. Modern phones are capable of much more than sending than receiving phone calls. Mobile phones were only used for communication reasons at first but now we use them for so much more. Phones have been improving to supply some apps like games, calculators, time, and media. They were also enhanced to support the Internet and many apps that need the use of Internet. Mobile phones along with calling purposes are used to send messages. Text messages are an easier and trustful way of sending message. . It allows users to send and receive text messages, emails, photos and also videos. Also it has access to the internet, besides being able to play games, listen to music, record information, use GPS, and so much more. Phones are compatible with computers. They’re able to send information to a computer, or viceversa, as if it was being done by a computer. Both of them can be connected to each other to download information. Mobile phones are also cable to chat online, make a conference, and transfer multimedia messages information. ( Phones nowadays are an important communication tool, it is used by people all over the world to keep in contact with each other all the time. Early
