How Did America Change Throughout The 1800s
Throughout the 1800s America has changed in a lot of ways even though some were small changes some were significant America still changed. America changed socially, politically and technology
America changed socially in so many ways. On of the ways America changed socially was during the civil war. The civil war was a war that was fought to end slavery. When slavery ended many slaves were still slaves and they still had no right to vote. Another major social change was the women's rights. Some of the rights that change for a woman was education, and voting rights. One way that education was a major change for women’s right was education was minimal schooling was only for a male gender if a woman wanted to go to school, unfortunately
was looked down upon, however many people started to realize that women need some type of education to be able to take care of a family that was when women collages came into the picture.
American changed politically between the 1800s and the 1890s in in so many ways. The thirteenth amendment was one political change. The women's right suffrage was also a political change. The thirteenth amendment was a political changed because it made slavery illegal in America however as stated in the last paragraph a lot of people did not abided by the law and ignored the president's orders.Women suffrage is also a political change because women got an education they also got voting rights this became the nineteenth amendment but unfortunately that amendment did not pass till may of 1919.
Technology changed in many ways in the 19th century. In agriculture technology changed with the cotton Gin. The industry also had a technology changed with the steam engine. The cotton Gin helped agriculture in many ways pg 397 “The cotton GIn was a machine that removes seeds from cotton fibers dramatically increasing the amount of cotton.” (the American journey appleby) The many ways the cotton Gin helped was removed seeds from cotton fiber. A worker can clean 50 pound of cotton a day. The steam engine helped with the industry in many ways pg 387 “Shippers could send larger guentias of goods faster over railroads (The American Journey. Appleby.) Some ways that the the steam engine help was transporting goods faster, it was also cheaper and the population grew.
