How Did Asclepius Become A Greek God

In this paper I will be discussing the Greek God Asclepius. Asclepius was the God of Medicine. To begin with let's talk about how he became the God of Medicine. Asclepius was the child of the mortal Coronis and the God Apollo. Apollo was a jealous God in the fact that he found out that Coronis fell in love with another mortal man which resulted in an affair. When this became apparent to Apollo, he had his twin sister Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, go after Coronis and kill her. At this point, Coronis was pregnant and Apollo started to feel extremely guilty. So when Artemis had Coronis on the funeral pyre, Apollo jumped in and saved Asclepius. By doing this, he performed the world's first C-Section. Once Asclepius was saved, Apollo took him to
Over the years Asclepius became very well known from his medical skills. So well that once Athena came to him and gave him some Gorgon blood. This blood ends up being the death of Asclepius. The way that Gorgon blood works is that if it came from the right side of the Gorgon then it could help in bringing people back from death. And this is what Asclepius did. He was known for going to all sorts of towns healing the sick and dying. In the end, it started to make Hades, the Greek God in charge of the Underworld, angry. He felt that he was being robbed of the one thing that belonged to him, all the dead souls. So in the end, Hades went to Zeus to plead his case. Zeus listened to him and also showed worry for the situation. His worry was that it completely messed up the order of Nature. Humans were not meant to live forever and whenever Asclepius used the Gorgon blood it would give that person immortality. So, Zeus took Asclepius down by hitting him with a massive thunderbolt. Zeus was trying to send the message that no mortal is meant to become immortal and forbidden them from doing so. Although, Zeus did see the benefit that Asclepius had with his medical
