C. Wright Mills was born on was born on August 28, 1916 in Waco, Texas and lived through March 20, 1962. Even though he was not considered so while he was alive, he is now considered one of the most important sociologists of the 20th century. While alive, he wrote several books on sociology including his trilogy of books, The New Men of Power, White Collar, and The Power Elite. He also wrote the influential book, The Sociological Imagination. He believed that sociology could be used to help better the American society then. His most important contribution to the disciple of sociology was that he used what he learned to try and improve the lives of ordinary men and women. He takes what he learned from his studies of European sociology in Greenwich and uses it to help the betterment of the American society. He places most of his emphasis upon the new emerging middle class and the average man then who’s entire life was determined by the company he works for. He uses this to connect how that sociologists are under the obligation to turn issues like that into public issues that in turn, help the public and enable it to become better. C. Wright Mills is considered one of the most important sociologists of his time. Him having come from a poor background and having lived in the big city, he was able to look at the world with a special insight. His work and teachings have been widely used in national movements such as the Civil Rights Movement. His book The Sociological Imagination widely impacted the country in his day in how it shows the two worlds he lived between in his Texan background and him living in Greenwich. It also crafted European sociology as a way to improve the lives of ordinary men and women. He also made an impact in how he said that sociologists are supposed to take issues and turn them into public issues that in turn make the public better. In conclusion, C.
