In 19th century, discovery of the new land and the World War 1 change the culture and values; capitalism became mainstream and feudalism went out of society, the age of mass consumption and mass production come in.
The old society and the new society is different in many ways like basis and scale of economy, their sense of value and the cultural barrier between classes. In the old world, the economic infrastructure was real estate which provided tangible serviceability like crops, but in the new world, money is the basis of the market and it expanded the scale of the economy. Social mobility is greater in the industrial America; everyone have a fundamental rights and have a chance to get their own land, enjoy high culture which was a privilege to only upper class in days go by and join the upper echelons of society. When new world's industrial recruit immigrants from the laboring class in Europe for working as wage earners, they introduce America as a vast extent of land which was not owned by anyone and where those who former working people have a fundamental rights and wages which allows them to have dominion to land which enable them to escape from slavish work. …show more content…
It is sure that there are a chance to become the rich and powerful by succeeding in business and have a capital, but it is difficult for most people because the wage is low and they cannot afford to accumulate
