Now that Fox has achieved his American Dream, he now knows that his next dream is to have a happy family, that money doesn’t define true happiness, and that he wants to give his family a “continuation” of his dream.
Now that fox has achieved his American Dream, Fox wants his family to be happy. When asked what his next American Dream is after accomplishing his first, Fox says “I …show more content…
want my kids to be happy, that’s all I care about. [..] hopefully it becomes a reality.” Fox believes that life is all about happiness by saying, “Being happy is what it is all about”, whether living in poverty or in luxury, whether having a family or not, happiness is the key to a wonderful life.
Now that Fox has achieved his American Dream, Fox has learned that having money doesn’t always make someone truly joyful.
When asked if money creates happiness Fox said, with a chuckle, as if it was common sense, “Yeah it can, but not always. I know people who aren’t very happy, but have a great deal of money, and I also know people who don’t have a whole bunch of money but are very happy. It’s what you make of it.” When asked if money is an important factor in being able to achieve the American Dream, Fox said that it depends on the dream, but money isn’t needed in order to achieve happiness, what is needed is dedication and a vision of how you want to be like in the future. Even though Fox doesn’t know what the younger generation vision in life is, he knows what everyone must
have.
Now that Fox has achieved his American Dream, Fox wants to have a “continuation” of his dream. Fox knows that his kids’ American Dream will be different, Fox said with a look of uncertainty, “I image young people today their American Dream is probably not having a family, being married, having a house, maybe theirs’ is something different [...].” Fox knows he can’t change the views of the younger generation, but he wants to pass down the key to life, happiness, to his kids. This is what Fox calls a “continuation” of his dream, living a cheerful life.
Fox has made his American Dream a reality, by making himself happy, but most importantly, he has made his family and friends happy. Fox risked a stable job to pursue his dream of being a golf professional. If Fox wouldn’t have decided to quit his job to pursue his dream, I may have never met Fox or would have become the person I am today, he has become a mentor to me, not in golf, maybe a little, but in life. I have asked Fox for life advice, prior to this interview, and he told me, “Do something that brings you happiness, even if it is something totally different and it make you happy, pursue that dream.”
