How Did Franklin D Roosevelt Changed America

Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the strongest presidents out there going through the Great Depression. Franklin became president in 1933 but he became known for his government and how clean he was. He uses power by favoring the World War I he had a lot of support for the Navy’s force. Before he came president in 1932 he proposed the “New Deal”, on that March 4, 1933 when he was announced as president nearly 15 million were unemployed and all banks closed. When the Great Depression was going on he had relief and recovery agencies, for example he had was the Civilian Conservations Corps (CCC), the Public Public Works Administration (PWA) the CCC and the PWA provided about a million jobs for the workers. He also started the Home Owners Loan Corporation (HOLC) and that helped the relief to the real estate and reduced employment for the people. Once he passed all the relief and recovery agencies he turned away from the welfare. His New Deal programs he gave around a billion of dollars to the economy and helped a lot of people get good paying jobs. When everyone started getting jobs all the American’s said Franklin had saved them from the financial disaster that happened. After that happened the Great Depression ended because American’s were finding lots of jobs. Franklin ran three terms and in his third term that was when D-day happened and also when the United States was fighting in the Pacific.
