clothing.etc. This made Greece somewhat an easy target for attackers because of the mountains. All in all agriculture made farming a way of life in Greece, the nice weather brought in the Olympics and males were the only ones with the citizenship and education while women raised the families.
2. When Alexander the great died he did not have any children. So senior generals from his army divided the nation with each general becoming “the king”. The new kings fought against each other and 3 big kingdoms started. Greece, Egypt & Mesopotamia. The conquests of Alexander lead to Hellenistic Culture. Alexander had built such a HUGE empire that it stretched from Greece all the way to India. So the Greek culture and all of Alexander’s ideas spread to Asia. The Hellenistic culture was a transition and art, music, literature.etc were really developing.

According to my history text book: “Patterns of Interactions”, The Roman Empire fell in 476 CE. Many things contributed to the Roman Empire falling. Emperor Marcus Aurelius marked the end of 2 centuries of Pax Romania which rulers then followed and in result, Rome began to decline. It was during the 3rd century A.D that Rome’s economy weakened. Socially, there was low confidence in the empire, there was disloyalty and lack of patriotism. There was a major contrast between rich and poor. There also was a decline in interest in public affairs and population. Which was due to disease and food shortage. The economic had a lot to do with it as well. This included poor harvests and lack of gold and silver. Hostile tribes and Mediterranean Sea pirates disrupted trade and taxes were raised for hopes of more money. There was a huge gap between rich and poor and there was no more water plunder. There was a decline of Patriotism and loyalty among soldiers and citizens, there were low funds for defense and there were threats from northern European tribes. The immediate cause of the fall of the Roman Empire was the invasion by Germanic tribes and
Huns.
3. Italy is surrounded by water, the Mediterranean Sea to be exact. Italy is in the shape of what looks like a boot. Italy is a peninsula by South East of Europe. The water surrounding Italy was an advantage because it made it easier for them to trade. All the plain and field that was used for agriculture was an advantage not only helped Italy be a good tradee but also a good trader. Italy got many goods from other surrounding places such as Rome. A lot of Italy was mountain so that unfortunely made them kind of an easy target like Greece. Italy now brings many tourists because of the ruins (which helped develop Greece) and cultural interests.
