The first social change Hitler enforced was Women being pressured out of work, so more jobs would be left for the men and Hitler could prove his worth by gaining full employment for men. Women’s lives were changed dramatically which substantiates how Hitler managed to transform German society to a great extent. Hitler viewed women as only having one specific job, which was to reproduce. He didn’t believe that they needed to work, they …show more content…
were meant to stay at home and do all domestic chores. The first law Hitler passed was the Encouragement of Marriage, which meant when couples got married, if they were Aryan, they would be given a government loan of 1000 marks. If they were to have a child, 25% of the loan did not have to be given back. If they had 2 children, 50% would not have to be returned. And if they had 4 children, the loan would not have to be paid back. In addition to this another law was discussed in 1943 that all women were to have 4 children and the father had to be “racially pure”. Lastly, in addition to women being pressured out of work, this was an extreme transformation for the women in German society as in Weimer Republic, a majority of the women had jobs. But within months of Hitler coming to power this was soon changed and most women’s work would now be housework and being a mother. Another social change Hitler implemented was to do with the Jews. He announced the Nuremburg laws during 1935. This affected the Jews as they were excluded from Reich citizenship and prohibited them from marrying or having sexual relations with anyone of "German or related blood." It also deprived them of most of their political rights. Also during 1935, November 14th to be precise, the laws were extended to other groups such as people who would reproduce “racially suspect” offspring and blacks and gypsies were included in the laws. This was a massive change to German Society as everyone was now unequal. If you were not the perfect human, e.g. Aryan, you were not accepted as much as you should be into society. Lastly, Jews and some of the ‘undesirables’ were finally sent to concentration camps as part of the final solution which was an extremely dramatic transformation to German society. There are many economic policies which transformed the society and although most of the contributions of Hitler’s ability to transformation German society are negative, there are some positives in the situation.
One of them being the statistic of unemployment falling to 2 million by 1936, when in 1933 unemployment was at 6 million. This is a huge transformation to the society as most people were now in work. This may be a positive thing towards the men who were now employed but there were some rumours that the Nazi party manipulated the statistics to portray unemployment as better than it was. Most Aryan people that were in Germany had benefits from the economic policies set, it gave them prosperity and financial security, many observers stated that it seemed there was no poverty in Germany at the time. This changed the German society to a great extent and made the right people in society happy. But on the other hand for the ‘undesirables’ these policies did not apply due to the Nuremberg laws and they were unable to live their lives well, this was a major negative and positive
conflict.
A major transformation in German society through political policies was the opposing parties being banned. The only party left for the Germany society to support was the Nazi’s. This transformed their society majorly as most were influenced by the amount of Nazi propaganda that was promoted. Due to it being the Nazi’s in charge of this, there was never anything bad portrayed about them, meaning they gained full support of the society. They were blinded by the Nazi’s and did not manage to see the negative sides of the transforming society, e.g. the Jews and the rest of the undesirables. Society also changed dramatically when Hitler gained power compared to the life they had when Weimer republic were in power. They were democratic and Nazi’s were a dictatorship. This was a major change and the right to vote for who they wanted in power was removed after the Nazi party got into power.
Overall, Hitler transformed Germany society to a huge extent. The social policies including women being removed from work and assigned to house chores and being a mother and also including the Jews who were, in the end, sent to concentration camps and mostly killed, this was a huge changed to both of the groups lives. These social policies were the main contributions to Hitler and how he managed to transformation German society effectively. The economic and political policies also contributed to the transformation in society, but these were not all negative changes.
