How Did Jackie Robinson Affect Society
Jackie Robinson the most famous baseball player became the first black player in the major leagues in 1947. Jackie was born in Cairo, Georgia, on January 31, 1919 and was the youngest of five children. He had a grandfather that was a slave, Jackie’s dad was a sharecropper and Mallie, Jackie’s mother, was a maid. Jackie had a tough childhood. His dad ran away from the family when Jackie was only an infant. After his father deserted , jackie and his family moved to california to seek for a better life. Living in california as a child Jackie experienced many racial acts that he didn't understand. The neighborhood his family moved to were mostly a white neighborhood. He was the first african american to play the major leagues after he played his first game for the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Downfall while playing for the Dodgers was Jackie was discriminated throughout his whole career just because he was a different race than another player. He was haunt for playing baseball. But now today all African Americans are allowed to play game today without having to go through all the personal effects Jackie Robinson had to go through.

Not only was he a legendary baseball player, but he was a champion that broke the color barrier in professional sports. which led to many white teams playing against all black teams or interracial teams. It also made africans americans gain acceptance as desegregation took place. Allowing all race to be able to play sports together and have equal rights to play was Jackie's Dream that he accomplished by himself. He was the first african american to be elected in the baseball hall of fame , and the first African player to earn Most valuable player of all times.
