Maycomb county is a small town which means that everyone knows about everyone. In this formal town it is normal for people to create opinions and suspicion about each other. This is exactly what the kids did about Boo radley. Right of the bat dill was curious about the radley place which is where Boo radley lives. Jem and Scout made up a bunch of things about boo radley. …show more content…
According to Jem’s description, “ Boo was about six and a half feet tall, judging from his tracks; he dined on raw squirrels and any cats he could catch, that’s why his hands were bloodstained.” You can tell that Jem has a vivid imagination about someone they haven't even seen.
Scout at the beginning of the story is a seven year old who is a very tough and smart girl, some would say that she’s too smart for her age.
As said by Miss Caroline Fisher.“Now you tell your father not to teach you any more. It’s best to begin reading with a fresh mind. You tell him I’ll take over from here and try to undo the damage.” She is a girl who would like to more likely solve problems with her hands rather than her head. As the story goes on she becomes more aware of the people round her, she starts being more careful and using her head more. On the other hand Jem is Scout's older brother and he’s her best friend. They would often argue and fight but s the story goes on Jem starts hitting maturity and starts to act like a grown up. Dill is a kid from mississippi who comes to maycomb every summer and spends it with Jem and Scout.Dill is very outspoken and energetic towards people Judging the things he said you can tell he makes them up. As the story progresses he begins to calm down a bit. To entertain themselves they make up games and ct out books and movies. As said by Scout “He played the character parts formerly thrust upon me— the ape in Tarzan, Mr. Crabtree in The Rover Boys, Mr. Damon in Tom
Swift.” Overall Scout, Jem and Dill re just kids, so they act like it but all the conflict and situations round them makes them have to grow up mentally. Scout and Jem re constantly being looked at in a weird way just because they’re the children of the dd who's defending black man. As result they have to understand why they're being judged because of something they have no control over. Mrs. Dubose is an elderly woman who pushes Jem to the limit by insulting his dd Atticus. She said “Your father's no better than the niggers and trash he works for!” He went cry and destroyed her garden but later on he had to understand realize why she said that. Dill has to deal with his stepfather who doesn't seem to want him round.
In conclusion Scout, Jem and Dill re very different kids who have to deal with different problems. They're trying to live life like kids and have fun in their own way by either acting out books or cut out other people’s life. Although they're all different kids, they all have to deal with something similar and that's learning how people are in the world and how cruel they can be. Like what us people in the real world have to do.
