He was born in Quincy Massachusetts, and was of puritan belief and descendant. He was able to take part in the First Continental Congress, and aided in the creation of the Declaration of Independence During the time of the War John worked as a farmer and was a well known Lawyer. Having the experience that he did, and knowing the law he started to see the unjust things that were happening amidst the colonies. John was a very just man and believed in equality and justice, however it wasn’t until till the stamp act that he sided with the patriot cause and supported breaking away from Britain. During the time of the war, he suggested that they build up a Continental army, and nominated George Washington as Captain once again. In May 1776, John argued his cause for the colonies to adopt their own independent governments, and put up a rough draft of the preamble (John Adams Biography. (n.d.).
