He knew silk was growing in popularity, he had enough money to buy a bunch and sell it for profit. Silk scarves, coats, and head wear were very popular amongst those in Italy. John knew he would be making easy profit in no time. He ventured to the nearest trading port and found an old lady who sold silk. He wanted to ask how she’d manage to obtain her merch but it was none of his business. The old lady wasn't an easy bargain, she had very little patience and denied most of Johns beginning offers. Luckily he did not start off very high. Once he and the old lady had come to an agreement, John was back on his way to the manor. With the spare money John had, which was very little to nothing, he was able to buy small treats for his mother and sister. He knew that'd distract them from the silk for at least a little
