LOCKE AND PROPERTY
Locke gives the democratically elected government the duty to protect the subjects’ rights. He begins with every person owning themselves in labor and property. He says every human has a right to life, liberty and property, the labor of the person make him acquire property and money.Here,the rights to do with one’s work-employment, payment after work, fair payment comes in .He is against enslaving humans. This property right played a significant part in the end of slavery.

An extension of the Enlightenment Theory where he deals with abstract ideas with no known reality
This shows how much the Enlightenment Theory changed the world. In 1693 Locke wrote “Thoughts Concerning Education”. This had an effect on Philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s novel ‘Emile’ published in 1762.The theory led to a lot of activity even after his death in 1704.There were revolutions after the Enlightenment .The French Revolution of 1748 was one such revolution that had been influenced by the Enlightenment theory where through experience, there was realization of the need to change the government.
His political theory and democracy became the pressing push and the realization that people needed to free themselves to enjoy their human rights. In 1776 saw the Virginia Bill of Rights, its main focus being the universality nature of human rights.
1789 saw the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen (Paris).This also emphasized on promotion of the human rights which were seen and regarded as inalienable.

CONCLUSION
The main works that led to the modern human rights were hinged on Locke’s theories. Those that played a greater role being Locke’s Natural Law-which provides humankind having rights naturally which are inalienable and indivisible.
The realization from his Two Treatises on Government, points to the government and its fiduciary relationship to those who put it in place. Also that there is no such thing as absolute power by those in leadership be it in government or religious circles. Where power is abused the government must be changed; Locke on Revolution and Morality of war.
Locke’s theory changed the mindset of people after the enlightenment theory which introduced scientific knowledge, and led to scientific revolutions. This is expressed as the major work that shaped the relationships today globally.
The UDHR came into place and was signed in 1948, two centuries after his death. This borrowed a lot from the American Constitution which Locke himself took part in making.
